      As we look forward to a bright and prosperous new year, we’d like to share the following six ways to polish your employer brand in 2017:

       

      1. Freshen up! A new year is a great time to refresh your employer brand communications. Have a good look at your materials: do you need to change up your content? It might be time to update your marketing calendar, redevelop your custom content, revitalize your job ads, rework your social media banners and invigorate your event and campus recruitment materials.

       

      1. Keep it personal. Are you connecting with talent on a personal level? Make sure you’re using two-way communications, doing regular pulse checks and creating positive candidate experiences with your brand.

       

      1. Show some love. Processes and manuals are great, but they can land flat when there’s no personal connection to the culture. Leaders need to get out there and speak directly to the people who work for them. Make sure that your recruiting, onboarding, recognition and celebrations are creating the right experiences for employees.

       

      1. Get social. If your employer brand is only on Twitter and LinkedIn, you’re missing out. Facebook rules the content universe: include it in your strategy for 2017.

       

      1. Tell a story. Social media requires savvy storytelling, calendar planning and a mix of media. Try your hand at creating video series, photographic storytelling or animation. And make it mobile-friendly, so that people can interact with your company’s culture on whatever device they like best.

       

      1. Keep it real. Being true to who you are will always spell success.
