Our 2021
Tech Talent Report
In late 2020, we conducted a survey of tech professionals across North America. Our sample base represented a cross-section of ages, sectors, and technology roles.
Our goal was to find out:
- What is motivating tech professionals today in this new normal?
- How are they feeling in their current job?
- What do they really want from an employer – and what don’t they want?
Our Findings:
Our survey responses shine the light on some revealing trends. Discontent, disloyalty, distrust and a strong desire for flexibility, balance and more entrepreneurial opportunities abound. Tech professionals today have dramatically shifted their perceptions, behaviours, and professional aspirations from years past.
In short, the way they work, where they seek work, and what they truly want has all changed.
To get an edge in this battle to recruit and retain tech talent, employers must take a three-pronged approach:
-
Understand today's talent
-
Innovate, modernize & plan for the future workplace
-
Transform the employee experience
Tech Professionals are on the lookout for better-fit opportunities
